Play Station® Portable ( Photo credit: @kevinv033) While the PSP does have it’s fair share of decent games there comes a time where one would like to play some of the more traditional games on the go. Thanks to custom Firmware, and the guys who have developed all these amazing emulators, one can now do this with the ease. This is a very basic guide for beginners to be able to install custom firmware on their PSP E1004 ( Street download and install the right emulator and of course copying and playing your games. The CF (custom firmware) that i have chosen to install is one I know that works perfectly with the E1004 and to this day have seen no reason to change it. The same applies to the SNES ( Super Nintendo Entertainment System) emulator that I am currently using. At the end of each section I have added a video as well so you can see what I’ve done. So let’s get traditional THINGS YOU WILL NEE SP E1004 ( Street) A memory card (to copy your custom firmware & games, etc, etc) Custom Firmware Pro- B10 Snes9x TYL ME ( SNES Emulator) Snes rom ( for testing) GUIDE TO INSTALLING CUSTOM FIRMWARE ON YOUR PSP E1004 Download Custom Firmware Pro- B10 Once downloaded, extract the Fast Recovery and PROUPDATE folders Turn on your PSP E1004 and connect it to your PC using the appropriate USB cable On your PSP, using the left arrow on the D- PAD scroll all the way to left until you see System Update then scroll down to USB Connection and press X Windows will recognize your PSP as a Removable Disc. Once recognized open the Removable Disc through My Computer ( XP Users) or Computer ( Win 7 Users). For less confusion I’m going to refer to the removable disc as the PSP drive instead. On the PSP drive, double click on the PSP folder, then double click the GAME folder Copy the Fast Recovery and PROUPDATE folders to the GAME folder on the PSP Drive On the PSP itself push CIRCLE.
